"One person's trash is another person's treasure."
Imagine people from all over Queens and beyond, bringing their yard and garage sale items to one place to create an open community market to barter, exchange, scavenge and sell. In the spirit of a farmer's market, we aim to promote the gathering of community to salvage perfectly usable items that would otherwise go to the landfill and pollute the environment.
OPEN COMMUNITY MARKET
Come to meet other people, hunt for treasure, find bargain items, and salvage the value of your household items otherwise marked for trash. Declutter your life! Not for profit. Come be a part of a community of people who are eclectic, environmentally conscious, and as diverse as the population of Queens and New York City.
This event is hosted by The College Point Arts Center, a not-for-profit community arts center located in College Point, Queens.
